Custom Order Measurement Guidelines
For ALL Measurements we suggest getting another
person to help you. It is very hard to get proper
measurements alone.
Salwar Kameez Measurements:
- Bust:
measurement
should be taken around fullest part of breasts with
bra on and tightly supported.
- Upper
arm: this
needs to be the circumference of the largest part of
your upper arm
- Sleeve
Length: Measure from your shoulder down
to the place you would like your sleeve to end. We
will get this as close to your measurement as
possible.
- Shoulders:
This should be
done with your shoulders as straight as possible
from the outside of one to the outside of the other.
- Waist:
Right above your
belly button, measure around your entire stomach.
- Hips:
Measure
around the fullest part of your hips.
- Length
of kameez (blouse): From
your shoulder measure to the length you would like
your blouse to fall to, traditionally this is to
below the knee, however you can make it as short or
as long as you like.
- Length
of salwar(pants): Measure
from your waist (or the place you want your salwar
waist to sit) to below your ankle. (Your entire
ankle should be covered)
- Length
of Waist: This is a tricky
measurement.T he best way to do this is take a tape
measure and position it at your belly button.
Measure down to the inside of your thigh, about 2"
below your private area. This is to make sure you
get a proper fit in the tummy and bottom.
- Ankle
Circumference: Measure around your entire
ankle. This is the minimum for your salwar's ankles
- Drawstring
or Elastic Waist: Drawstring
waists are free and a drawstring (nale) is provided
at no additional charge.
- With
Duppatta or Without: Duppattas (long
scarfs) are provided at no additional cost. Ends are
sealed at no additional cost.
- Long
Sleeves, Short Sleeves or 3/4 Sleeves:
Please be sure to provide your measurements along
with your choice.
- Loosing:
Salwar Kameez suits usually come with 2" extra
loosing in the bust unless otherwise noted. Example:
Your bust measurement is 42", your suit's bust
measurement will be 44" for synthetic and 44
1/2" for cotton. This results in a close
fitting, tailored look. However, if you prefer a
looser fit (more like a t-shirt) we suggest
3-4" loosing. We do not recommend more than
4" loosing in the bust.

- Length
of lehnga(skirt): Measure
from your Belly Button to your ankle. It is
important to remember to wear the same shoes when
measuring as you will wear with your lehnga. If that
is not possible, wear shoes that are of the same
height. If you are wearing a shoe with any heel at
all, you might want to add additional inches to
cover part of the shoe. Traditionally these suits
are worn with the lehnga touching the ground and no
shoe visible. However, this is not necessary today
but you should try to get the lehnga as close to the
ground as possible without dragging.
- Drawstring
or Elastic Waist: Drawstring
waists are free and a drawstring (nale) is provided
at no additional charge. Elastic waists are an
additional charge of $1-$2 depending on your size.
